Game Setup

  1. Game board. In the middle. Put the silver coins, worker chips and the white die beside it. Use the front side with 4 players; flip it to the back with 2 or 3.
  2. Six-sided tiles. Sort by the colour of their backs into separate face-down supplies.
  3. Goods. Shuffle the 42 goods tiles face down. Put a pile of 5 on each phase space A–E. Keep the other 17 aside.
  4. Bonus tiles. Put the 12 bonus tiles on their spaces on the board.

Each player

  1. Player board. Everyone takes the same duchy: No. 1 or No. 2. Add an overview board below it.
  2. Start castle. A dark green castle tile on the dark green middle space (die value 6).
  3. 3 goods. At random from the 17 aside, on your 3 goods storage spaces: same colours stacked together. Return any leftover goods to the box.
  4. Dice and pieces. Your 2 dice; one piece on 0 of the victory point track; your 100/200 tile beside your board.
  5. 1 silver coin. On its space on your board, visible to everyone.

Don't forget

  1. Workers. Roll for start player. They take 1 worker chip, the next player 2, the third 3, the fourth 4.
  2. Turn order. Stack your second pieces on the first space of the turn order track: start player on top, last player at the bottom.
  3. White die. Goes to the start player.
